SPCA SPRING CRAFTS FOR CRITTERS FAIR

May 4, 2013 12:00am - 1:00pm

A host of local artisans and crafters are getting creative and

coming together to sell their handcrafted items in support of the animals at the

Charlottesville-Albemarle SPCA. The annual Spring Crafts for Critters Fair will take place

on Saturday, May 4th, from 10AM-4PMin the SeminoleSquareShopping Centeron Zan

Rd. adjacent to Marshalls. With a variety of locally made crafts including woodwork,

pottery, jewelry, children’s clothes, dolls, furniture, baked goods, handbags and more, this

is a convenient opportunity to purchase a special gift for Mother’s Day or even just

something for yourself.

There will also be a raffle to benefit the SPCA, face painting for the kids and the

opportunity to meet plenty of adoptable pets. Plus, to make it even easier to bring home a

fluffy new friend, the SPCA is offering a special $5 adoption fee for all of our fabulous

felines.

Lisa Lane, SPCA Director of Marketing and Development noted, “This is one of our

favorite semi-annual events. You can buy locally made gift items and adopt a pet in one

stop—it’s a win-win for everyone. We are grateful to all of the artists who participate to

make the Crafts for Critters Show such a special day each Spring.” Crafts for Critters

organizer, Heather Gerry of The Jade Butterfly, explained, ‘‘The craft community loves the

SPCA and all it does to help the animals in our community. We are all so happy that we

can do something to support such an important cause.’’
